Chenille rug
Vintage chenille rugs are getting harder to find. The early chenille rug didn’t have a rubber backing, they are made pretty much the same as a bedspread with heavy yarn and the stitching showing on the back. They just used a much heavier base material to make the rug. The stitching is also much closer on a rug than a bedspread normally is.
They come in many sizes and designs so shop around to suit your taste. My opinion is that it is a lot harder to find old rugs than old bedspreads as they usually got worn out and tossed out.
They make a great home decor touch to your vintage looking bathroom or even by the bed.

Here is a beautiful red and white with green chenille rug and toilet seat cover. This vintage chenille rug measures approximately 28" x 47" and is striking with 8 bright red flowers with two tone green leaves and we also have the matching toilet seat cover. I displayed it in my bathroom over my toilet seat cover so it isn't on there tight. The rug is large and in great condition. Both could use a cleaning and fluffing but I will leave that to the new owner, there is slight soiling but no stains. The seat cover has a rope in the edge to hold it on, there is a 4" area where the welt has worn through, I will repair it but it will show when the seat is up. There is no damage to the chenille. This hard to find set is priced at $60.00
This cute vintage chenille rug measures 29" x 18" not including the mop fringe. It is in excellent condition and is clean and ready to use. I can't make the pictures any larger on this site but if you would like larger pics I'll be happy to send them.

This chenille rug is 26" across with 6 layers of mop fringe on the edges, short mop and it is included in the measurements. The colors are bright and it is clean and ready to use. There is what looks like rust staining on the back which does not show through to the front but mentioned for accuracy. Priced at $20.00
This chenille rug with huge pops is handmade from an early kit called "Bucilla Fluffy-tuft Pattern". You can faintly read it on the back. The fluffs are all cotton and colorful. I did wash this and it is ready to use. It measures 24" x 31". There are a few condition problems to mention. There is one hole in the backing material where a pop pulled out and a rough edge you should be able to see in the picture. I counted 3 missing pops from the back, they aren't that noticeable from the front. I'm guessing this was handmade in the early 20's or so, possibly earlier. Priced at 45.00
This rug is also handmade and in excellent condition. It measures 34 1/2" x 22". There are no pops missing on this one and it's done in a colorful pattern. There are 2 small holes, wear spots on the backing which by no way show through. This has been laundered and is ready to use. Again, I believe this to be from around the 1920's or so. Priced $55.00
This mint green rug decorated with white bow and boarder is a pretty vintage rug. It measures 35" x 24" and is in very good condition. The dark spot is the lighting, not a stain.

This all yellow vintage chenille rug is in excellent condition with a raised floral design. It measures 32 1/2" x 19 1/2".

This is one of two I have in this design. This one doesn't appear to have been used much or at all. It measures 43" x 23 1/2" and is just about in mint condition. There is a very light yellowing on a fold line from storage, only noticeable in the bright sun light and not otherwise seen. It would probably soak out if it bothered you. Price $25.00 SOLD
This is the other one in this pattern which shows a little wear, I wouldn't have know if not for the other one. It is a little larger in size also measuring 45" long by 23" across. I feel these rugs are quite early due to their irregularities, probably 1930's or 40's. This one also has that very faint yellow line from being folded in storage but barely visible. Otherwise in very good condition with some top wear. Price $20.00 SOLD
